About Lena Jenelle

How did you get into modeling and what was your first experience like?
I’ve always been told I should model, and I always wanted to I just never had the confidence. I struggled with an eating disorder for a long time. One day, I met this videographer while I was working at Hooters. He overheard my conversation about modeling but again I kept talking down about my height and weight. He just reassured me that I could do it, and everything took off from there. My first experience modeling was scary because I didn’t know what poses to do, and my face looked scared. But when the photoshoot was over, I felt an overwhelming emotion of power, and I knew I belonged in front of a camera.
Where are you from?
La Vergne, TN
What are some of the funniest/craziest experience you’ve encountered as a model?
The modeling and photography world is SMALL. I think the funniest moment was when I ran into a model who previously dated the guy I was currently messing around with. Awkward.
What’s your idea of the perfect photo session and with whom ?
Perfect? A good time. Laughs and hard work. My favorite photographer is an Egyptian guy, Philo. We travel for most of our shoots, so we got close during our car rides.
Any talents other than modeling? If so, what are they?
I love to paint, dance, and act.
How do you balance your personal life and having a modeling career?
I’m not signed to a large company, so I definitely feel like it’s a little harder to balance the two. I have to keep track of every session and time and place. It can get hectic. There’s been times where I took a break because it can be stressful being your own “assistant.”
What is your favorite attire and why?
I love lingerie. I feel the best when I’m in something tight and showy. I struggled with body image for a long time, so when something can make me feel sexy, I appreciate it.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I always joke about my boobs. I definitely want to get a boob job. But honestly nothing. There’s nothing I want to change about my inner self. I’m always learning and growing, but I love who I’m becoming.
What do you think men or women would say your best feature is and why?
My smile. I hardly smile, but when I do people will ask me to smile more.
If you could give any advice to aspiring models what would it be?
Be safe and selective. There’s a lot of people looking for “new” models to take advantage of.
What’s your idea of the perfect date:
Whatever has the most thought put into it. If you can plan an entire day like it’s an event that I know nothing about, that’s something special.
What is love to you?
I’m only 22. I don’t know if I really know what love is, but I want it one day with the right person.
OK so what do you think about your first love?
I still love him. I had my first relationship in 5th grade, and we broke up going into 7th grade because he moved to another state. I’m still friends with his mom on social media.
We love the images, how was it working with such a talented photographer:
There’s some moments that can’t be forgotten, and I think this was one.
What’s next for you as a brand and who has been a positive influence in your modeling career?
I’d like to join an agency. I’ve been modeling for a while now, and I think I have what I need to push forward. Celebrity wise, I’ve always looked up to Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian. Family wise, my mom. She’s supported me through this entire journey even when other family members did not.
Thank you for your time with Malkia Magazine is there anything more that you would like us to know about you:
I’m just an average person. In grade school a lot of people would tell me that they were afraid to approach me or I intimidated them. I never wanted to give off that vibe. I go through things. My face breaks out. I’m not perfect.
